Future Ready Fuel – supporting the campaign to promote renewable heating oil

Direct Oil is proud to support the Future Ready Fuel campaign. Since 2021, our trade bodies UKIFDA and OFTEC have been working with distributors to trial a new renewable liquid fuel called HVO, to prove its viability as a low-carbon replacement for kerosene.

HVO is a drop-in replacement that offers an 88% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, without needing to make any expensive or wide-ranging changes to heating systems or the fabric of homes.

The programme trialled HVO (hydrotreated vegetable oil), a sustainable and fossil-free fuel that produces up to 90% lower CO2 emissions** as well as lower NOx and particulate matter.
